Boxing impressions
Modern Materials® Boxing Wax is a soft, pliable wax which comes in two thicknesses – Regular, which is 0.096”, and X-Thin, which is 0.040”. It is a bright red color, and is 1” wide by 11” long. It is used both by dentists and technicians for boxing (wrap-around) time impressions, adhering to the trays without heating or instrumentation.
Once an impression is poured with stone and hardened, the boxing wax can be neatly removed, leaving a clean, workable model. Boxing wax is particularly useful in offices that lack a model trimmer.
