Open Positions:

Training Coordinator
South Bend, IN

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, will deliver training requirements, and provide clerical and administrative duties related to company training programs and workshops to employees and managers. Monitors the effectiveness of training on employees using individual or group performance results. Collects feedback on sessions from attendees to use for future improvements to content and presentation. Develops new training programs design and existing program enhancements including lessons plans and training aids. May specialize in a particular subject, training program, or function of the company. Training programs may typically include topics such as sales/marketing/supervisory training, work skills training, team building, and communications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible to plan, coordinate, direct, and/or execute strategic plans and programs around the training and mentoring for all Kulzer NA personnel as directed based on initiatives and company goals.
  • Responsible to evaluate training needs across Kulzer NA to effectively create and administer direct training programs.
  • Responsible to deliver trainings via Cornerstone LMS, Adobe connect webinar invites, and/or email notifications for, but not limited to the following: ISO to include Safety & Quality; Cornerstone, SharePoint/HQMS, Concur/Expense, HR Onboarding, and Scrap/Refining.
  • Responsible to furnish ISO Matrix to respective department manager during onboarding process for all new hires.
  • Responsible to ensure all ISO Matrix are completed and training records are in order with appropriate signatures within ISO requirements (120 days from DOH) for all employees.
  • Responsible for research, development, and/or purchase best practice training modules specialized for a growing dental organization. This includes new hire, ongoing, and advanced training that encompasses dental knowledge as well as selling skills.
  • Responsible to train with key leaders for basic understanding of personnel training needs to effectively provide proper and adequate training and training programs
  • Responsible to gain strong knowledge and understanding of all Kulzer products in order to assist in the development of effective training programs
  • Responsible to partner with managers to create development plans for all levels of the Kulzer NA team based on their individual needs and career growth potential.
  • Responsible to participate in Onboarding process for all new hires to ensure appropriate training requirements are coordinated and in order by the respective date of hire and according to HR and department expectations.
  • Responsible to develop or assist in development of training for sales partners, e.g. distributor partners
  • Responsible for effective communication with department managers to ensure the completion of required training documentation in coordination with required regulatory standards and Kulzer NA expectations.
  • Responsible to coordinate all training of new sales personnel for corporate office visit as directed by Sales’ needs.
  • Responsible for training budget under the direction of the Director, HR.
  • Responsible to complete your annual Development Dialogue via WorkDay.
  • Responsible to attend and participate in outside sales trainings; conventions and other meetings, as directed.
  • Responsible to perform additional duties, as directed by Director, HR

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring quality and timely administration and coordination of projects/tasks within this position. The incumbent have a significant impact on the productivity and success of the Kulzer training programs, onboarding success, employee satisfaction, and other key areas within the Human Resources department. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring and maintaining a positive environment as it pertains to the related functions of the job.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sciences or Dental Technology required
  • 3-5 years training experience with management/supervisory and sales preferred
  • ISO Program/Training requirement experience preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience with Learning Management System(s) preferred
  • 2-4 years’ experience in training/coaching preferred

Maintenance Technician
Full Time, Days 1st Shift - South Bend, IN

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs corrective and preventive maintenance, repair of production and facility equipment, and will perform mechanical skills, including but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and HVAC. Must be knowledgeable in all ten (10) of our Maintenance Skill Elements (identified under “Qualifications/Skills” category below), and requires the expertise of a seasoned trades’ professional with competent, sound decision-making ability, many times working with minimal to no supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Must be proficient on the use of a variety of hand and power tools including, but not limited to: drills, saws, brakes, presses, ironworker, welding equipment, cutting torch, plasma cutter and digital volt meters.
  • Responsible to bend metallic conduit, install metallic conduit, and install flexible conduit.
  • Responsible to interpret electrical code for wiring color code, conduit fill, ampacities, etc., as it relates to electrical systems and installations.
  • Responsible to effectively work on single-phase and three-phase AC powered systems up to 480V; and DC power systems up to 180V.
  • Responsible to troubleshoot and repair motors and motor control systems as they relate to all production and facility equipment, timely and effectively.
  • Responsible to be familiar with man-lifting equipment, such as scissor lifts, forklifts, man-lift baskets, and boom-style lifts; following all OSHA and Kulzer rules and regulations associated with operating such equipment.
  • Responsible to learn all necessary QS procedures related to areas of responsibility, prior to release to work in those areas.
  • Responsible to learn and perform production level skills for all production lines as described in the respective job descriptions, i.e., but not limited to: VK, Gypsum, Pouch, Ivory.
  • Responsible to effectively train subordinate-level maintenance and production employees to all aspects of their job to ensure department safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible to plan projects, schedule maintenance tasks, and meet with vendors as necessary.
  • Responsible to follow, maintain and train others to Kulzer’s safety protocol and QS procedures related to assigned area of control.
  • Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly work area, and return all tools and supplies to their designated storage areas directly following their use; assets will be managed and inventoried to ensure protection.
  • Responsible to perform work in a safe and competent manner with minimal supervision.
  • Responsible to perform preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance and cleaning, as necessary.
  • Responsible to manage area(s) to meet or surpass department key performance indicators that apply to their position.
  • Responsible to complete appropriate paperwork and utilize software for entry and retrieval of operational data, as necessary.
  • Responsible to ensure all quality system procedures and other company policies are followed within their area of control.
  • Responsible to take on other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Must be knowledgeable in all 10 Maintenance Skill Elements, to include: HVAC, steam operation, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, machinery repair, cutting/welding, tool-die repair, drafting, and programmable logic controls (PLCs).
  • Must possess ability to create parts drawings in AutoCad or other software platforms.
  • Must be prompt and efficient on the job, and maintain a positive work ethic and related behaviors.
  • Must be flexible in working hours, adjusting work schedule as needed to meet company needs.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred

Machine Operator/Mixer
Full Time, Days 1st Shift - South Bend, IN

Position Summary:
Individual chosen for this position will work within our manufacturing facility. This position is responsible to manufacturer, assemble, inspect and package product into specified containers along with the labeling and attaching appropriate paperwork, ensuring all QS procedures, and company policies and procedures are followed. Also, responsible to meet departmental productivity rates, inventory accuracy, housekeeping expectations, and safety goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completion of appropriate paperwork and utilize software for entry and retrieval of operational data.
  • Manage VK area to meet or surpass department key performance indicators that apply to their position.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, will be prompt and efficient on the job, and maintain a positive work ethic and related behaviors.
  • Properly weigh and mix/compound raw materials according to formula sheet specifications and QS procedures for production processes.
  • Must familiarize yourself and quickly gain working knowledge of machinery to perform job to include: preventative maintenance, cleaning of equipment and machinery, along with trouble-shooting the production line when necessary.
  • Perform required testing and full auditing of the product during and at the end of the process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Properly operate machinery according to quality standards.
  • Ensure all quality system procedures are followed and met within their area of control.
  • Must follow strict safety rules when operating machinery, and use proper safety equipment when handling hazardous materials at all times.
  • May work/assist in other manufacturing areas, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Certified or willing to obtain certification to operate a Forklift
  • Able to operate a pallet jack; both electric and manual
  • Able to utilize software for entry and retrieval of operational data; Excel Spreadsheets
  • Able to operate various equipment and machinery within a production environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Able to effectively communicate and follow direction
  • Flexible to work in multiple manufacturing areas

Education and/or Experience:
  • Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math, reading and writing skills are required
  • Minimum of 3 years production or distribution experience preferred
  • Experience with compounding, assembly and packaging preferred

Candidates for this position will be required to take a basic math test during our interview process.

The hours for this position will be M-F 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm with OT hours, at times. Some flexibility may be arranged. Summer hours typically are 5:00am-1:30pm.
